Portland Photo Works is a member-based gallery and studio space in Portland Maine.
The gallery showcases the work of Maine photographers, and offers a wide selection of framed and unframed prints, other photo based products.
The studio offers high quality digital printing services, and is available to the general public
The mission of Portland Photo Works is to help Maine photographers sell their photography, and to learn about the business of fine-art and commercial photography.
In pursuit of this mission, Portland Photo Works provides gallery space for the presentation and sale of photography. We also have digital printing facilities for production of fine art photography.
Portland Photo Works will also have a web presence aimed at promoting the gallery, the studio services, and marketing to commercial art buyers.
Background
Maine, and Portland in particular, is well known for its artists with photography an important part of that. There is the Salt Institute (which is moving to the Arts District), the Bakery Photo Collective in Westbrook, and several excellent traditional galleries in Portland which feature photography. Additionally there is the Portland Camera Club and Maine Photographic Workshops (in Rockland).
Portland Photo Works will compliment these organizations, and allow for new and less-established photographers be involved in the arts scene.

Portland Photo Works is operated by Elliott Teel, a Portland photographer. Elliott has been a professional photographer for ten years, and has sold his work throughout the country.
In addition to his photography work, Elliott is a licensed attorney in Maine. He has recently established his own law office, which will be sharing space with gallery and studio.
